Please join the Alabama Racquetball Association for the 2017 Alabama State Racquetball Championships, Singles, Doubles and Junior’s 24th to the 26th of February 2017 at the University of Alabama Recreational Center in Tuscaloosa.
You must be an Alabama state resident to enter a singles event. For doubles, at least one member of the doubles team must be an Alabama resident.
The event will be a 2 or 3 day sanctioned USAR racquetball tournament with players from throughout the state. Each participant will receive a souvenir shirt.
Meals and refreshments during the tournament will be provided.
This event will be held at the University of Alabama Recreational Center, 401 5th Ave E, Tuscaloosa, AL 35401.
The Event Hotel is the Wingate Hotel. The rate is $85 per night and the Hotel is sponsoring the event. Please use them as they have allocated us 15 rooms for Fri and Sat nights.
This is an USA Racquetball sanctioned and a National Qualifier event. All USA Racquetball rules apply. Two games to 15 points. Tie breaker to 11 points. Players must be USA Racquetball members. A USA Racquetball membership can be purchased at the tournament for $50 1 year adult or $25 Junior or a one-time competitive membership can be purchased for $20.
Winners must referee. Failure to referee will result in a forfeit.
The Tournament Director reserves the right to move any player or players to another division and if necessary to combine divisions.

As the Student Recreational Center will not allow junior under the age of 17 to participate at events in the Student Recreational Center, a separate event will be conducted off site for the juniors at Fitness One located at 1325 Mcfarland Blvd N, Northport, AL 35476. Junior’s wanting to play will not use the R2 web site to register and must contact Ann Hemphill at (205) 799-3814 or email: abhemp77@agristar.net to register for the Junior’s event. Do not use the R2 site for Junior’s entries. There will be a Juniors Clinic and Handicap Tournament for ages 6 to 17 year starting at 8:30 am on Saturday, February 25 and be complete by 2 pm. The clinic will be at Fitness One and provide opportunities for both regular tournament play and multi-bounce tournament play for beginners. The cost to be paid at the door is $20 per child and includes a shirt.
Walk-ins are permitted but you must register with Ann by 15 to get a shirt and be scheduled for *tournament play. Parents of the participating juniors must sign a waiver at the door.
* The Junior’s event is not a sanctioned USAR event.
